ICONS – Vol 1

Face it folks, it’s summertime and nostalgia is slowly setting in. When you see cars being washed, BBQ pits being prepped, and sprinklers being chased, you can faintly hear the echoes of summers past. They’re the sounds of Otis Redding, Patti Jo, Sam Cooke, James Brown, BT Express, and Sly Stone – icons of the funk and soul generation. When sizzling day turns to breezy night, the cicadas beckon you to the nearest dance parlor for drinks, friends, fun, and (of course) boogie.

On that tip, HopSonic Radio and Ouch My Ego! proudly present “ICONS Vol.1 – A Funk and Soul Party”. Join us on Friday July 15, 2011 at Molina’s Restaurant & Bar as we spin the grooves which defined an age of vinyl innovation (1950-Present).
