Hate is a strong word. I haven’t really hated any products (at least I can’t remember at the moment) to the point where I have sworn them off forever. I try to give every item enough time in my kit before I write it off.
So today I wanted to talk about items that I don’t necessarily hate but…NOPE, I WILL NOT BUY THEM AGAIN. And, instead of leaving you with a hole in your heart, I am also suggesting an item you should purchase instead!
Item 1: COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara ($8.99)
Let me start of by saying I’m not an avid user of eyelash curlers. I depend on mascaras to do the majority of the leg work. I’ve found great mascaras that curl and lift at Sephora, but I’ve been searching for a budget friendly one.

The COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara has 4.3 stars on ulta.com, and is affordable. The mascara is supposed to add volume to your lashes, and be smudge/wear proof. I actually used the whole tube just to end up disappointed.
The mascara did separate my lashes well, but there was no fullness. Also, after wearing for a few hours, the product would smudge into my eyes, which left me a watery mess. Not to mention, the mascara would transfer to my under eye area. There were some days where I applied layer after layer after layer to get my lashes to look alright.
After finishing this mascara, I looked for something new to try. I went to Target and found the e.l.f. Mineral Infused Mascara. I AM IN LOVE. It retails for $3 and I would happily pay way more than that. It helps my lashes look full, has great pigmentation, and it lasts all day without smudging. To be honest, you need a really good makeup remover to get it off. It gives a natural look and doesn’t get clumpy or flaky.

The best part is it gets onto my lower lash line pretty well without messing up my concealer. Go out and get it – you won’t regret it!
Item 2: COVERGIRL Katy Kat Matte (Pink Paws) ($8.99)
Wow. Didn’t realize both of my items were from COVERGIRL. Oh well. I bought the Katy Kat Matte lipstick a few months back. I’ve kept it close by, but never find myself reaching for it. It is soft and creamy, but it doesn’t apply well.

The color is beautiful, but is streaky and sticks to any dry patches on my lips. I also feel like the color bleeds on my skin but usually that issue can be solved by using a lip liner. I’m going to keep trying this one out even though I’m kind of over it and won’t purchase again. I just want it to work so badly.
So, I thought it was because I needed to exfoliate my lips for products to work properly. Not true, because I’ve found my existence in liquid lip form (thanks to a friend who wants me to do an in depth lipstick chart – shout out to Senia).

The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor is everything you want in a liquid lipstick. It applies creamy, and does not dry out your lips. The shades are gorgeous for summer and fall, and I feel they are great for “on the go,” or long work days. Some liquid lips take a lot of time to apply – one wrong move, and it is everywhere. Not with this formula! It is so easy to use that anyone can wield the wand.
I purchased the shade 640 HD Embrace, and I wear it every day. It does have a very sweet smell, but after you apply, it isn’t as strong. For $7.99 I think it packs a punch. I am already searching on Amazon to purchase a large pack of these babies in every shade.
