Ladies and Gents, how about a bonafide Vincent Price movie this week? After all the show is called Vincent Price’s Laugh.
We chose Vincent Price as our inspiration because, frankly, though familiar with him through pop culture of the 60s, 70s and 80s (via tv first run, reruns, and guest appearances), we haven’t actually seen a whole heck of a lot of his movies. And while he does have a rather extensive catalog of films and tv shows, we here at VPL aim to cover his genre efforts – those films for which he’s most beloved. This week we go back to 1959 with the VP vehicle, The Tingler. In this cult gem directed by none other than William Castle, Price plays oddball scientist Warren Chapin, who has a hunch that we humans have a curious and sinister monster lurking inside each of us. Listen as we discuss the film and even explore a bit about the director’s methods of film-making.
