It is the last day of September, so naturally I’m going to talk about my September ipsy Bag (I do receive the package at the beginning of the month – I’m just great at procrastinating.). The advantage of posting at the end of the month is it allows me to play a little with the products to get a full idea of how they do and don’t work for me.
I have to admit some of these items I don’t really care for. But, I do think the $10 subscription fee is completely worth it when I find a product I can use every day. Also, when you look at price points, I received over $75 worth of items for a fraction of the price.
Item 1: Be a Bombshell Nail Polish in the shade Va Voom ($14)
I think I’m going to go back into my ipsy profile and change the fact that I said I’m interested in nail polishes. I’m not sure why, but I’m just not feeling them right now. Though, the shade I received is a really beautiful deep purple…I will probably gift it to someone.
Item 2: Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask ($9)
I haven’t had the opportunity to try out the conditioning mask for hair. I did examine the mask, and the consistency feels very creamy, but I don’t like the scent. My personal preference for hair products is sweet or clean smelling. This kind of smells like a medicated cream to me (Ewwwww).
Item 3: Tarte’s Tarteist Lash Paint (Sample Size) (estimated $11.50)
A lot of people rave about Tarte, so my expectations were a little high for this product. I’m sad to say that I am unimpressed. My $3 e.l.f. mascara does so much more for my lashes than this lash paint. You may consider using this mascara if you are going for a natural look or if you already have long lashes. My lashes aren’t short or long, but I need something with a little more body to make my eyes pop.
Item 4: Waxing Kara Sweet Lips Organic Honey Lip Balm ($10)
After application my lips felt extremely hydrated. I don’t really use lip balm, but if I did, I would use this one! The product is completely organic, and has about eight ingredients that aren’t hard to spell and could even be found in your pantry. I also like that the balm has no scent. Sometimes a strong odor just under your nose can be overwhelming, and this felt natural. It’s perfect for every day use.
Item 5: Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in the shade Autumn Glow (Sample Size) (estimated $30)
Ladies and gents, this was the winner! I have never used such a vibrant, warm blush. The application was perfect – not patchy at all. Since it is a mineral blush, it is a finely milled powder that sifts out of a container. There are little flecks of glitter in the blush, but after it is applied to the face, it comes off as more of a glow. Then when I researched the price of a full sized tub and found out it is $45 for 9 grams of product, I was even more impressed with ipsy. This tub is 6 grams, and it will probably not finish any time soon since a little goes a long way.
Overall, I am really happy with the ipsy bag. I can’t wait to see what I get next month! If you are interested in subscribing to ipsy, go online here.
